Teaching Objectives: Go on learning the simple past tense and enable the Ss to learn the new words and the past form of regular and some irregular verbs.
Language Focus:
1.Sentence pattern “Did you…?” and the answers “Yes, I did./No, I didn’t.”
2.Sentence pattern “What/When/…+ did + subject + V. …?”
Properties: Tape recorder, multi-media computer
1. Lead-in
Task 1: Greeting
Task 2: T talk with some students.
eg: T: What did you do yesterday evening? S1: …
T: Did you watch TV? S2: …
2. Pre-task
Task 1: Ss watch a show carefully and then answer the questions.
Questions:
1) What is the show about?
2) What can the robots do?
3) If you can have a robot, what do you want it to do?
3. Task-circle
Task 1: Ss listen to the tape and choose the answers.
T check the answers with Ss.
Task 2: 1) Ss read the dialogue after the teacher.
2) Ss read the dialogue in groups and then act it out.
3) Ss evaluate the best partners group and the best robot.
Task 3: Game: Going on a trip.
T: Supposing we are going on a trip to Baiqiutian this Sunday, you must pack your bag, right? One student comes here to pack the bag (he can only pack three objects). Another student comes, but turns over and then guesses what the first student packed (only three guesses). The other students must try to be the memory robot.
eg: S2: Did he/she pack the cake?
Ss: Yes, he did.
S2: Did he/she pack the milk?
Ss: No, he didn’t.
Task 4: Ss read the dialogue in Part 2 in groups and try to fill in the blanks.
eg: do- did get - got go- -bought
read- -came start- -finished.
Task 5: 1) Ss read the dialogue in Part 2 after the tape.
2) Ss discuss how to finish the passage in groups.
